Langford came from behind to defeat Codicote and move up to fifth in SSML Division One.

Langford started well and after five minutes could have gone ahead when a corner was dropped by the Codicote keeper, only for Craig Meyrick to fire wide.

Gradually Codicote gained more possession and on 16 minutes were rewarded when a cross was poorly defended by the hosts allowing Jake Hoy to head home to put Codicote ahead.

The game opened up with play moving from end to end but Langford wasted three good chances before Alfie Barker, transferred from Langford to Codicote earlier in the month, had a shot saved at point blank range by Ross Tompkins.

The second half started with Codicote making the play and missing two chances.

Langford then started to play better football, with Jason Penman pulling the strings.

The game continued to move from end to end before, in the 77th minute, George Higley crossed from the left for Penman to fire home from 15 yards after taking a couple of touches.

Langford, who last week beat the then league leaders Risborough, piled on the pressure and in the 88th minute a long ball found Pat Daly who shrugged off a defender to win it for the hosts with his 15th league goal in 12 games this season.
