FINNISH driver Heikki Kovalainen will start alongside McLaren Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton in today's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Tewin's 23-year-old Formula 1 hero bagged pole at the Hungaroring yesterday with the quickest time in the final session of qualifying.

And Kovalainen completed a McLaren lockout of the front row by being second fastest in Q3.

"It's fantastic to be starting on the front row alongside Lewis," said Kovalainen.

"I hope that starting on the dirty side of the track won't be a disadvantage and I fully expect us to look out for each other in the first corner.

"This result really repays the team for all its efforts over the past few months."

Hamilton will be looking for his third grand prix victory in a row when the green lights signal the start of the Hungarian race.

He currently leads the drivers' standings from Felipe Massa, who starts today from the second row.
