THE Park's 3rd XI bagged 17 points in their draw with Berkhamsted 2nds on Saturday.

After looking likely to lose, the Knebworth side fought back to end the game looking the stronger of the two teams.

Winning the toss, the Park batted first and immediately batting looked comfortable.

In fact, almost all of the top eight managed to post useful scores, with impressive contributions from Jono Evetts, Ian Woods and the Fishers, who shared a 50-run partnership for the seventh wicket.

The Park eventually declared on 237-7 after 52 overs.

The returning Robbie Simpson made the initial breakthrough for the Park and when Graham Fisher bagged a second wicked soon after, Knebworth appeared to be making progress.

However, the Berkhamsted batting soon settled down, and despite one further wicket for Tom Eaton, the counter-attack was on.

Berkhamsted appeared to be cruising towards victory when Fisher once again made a crucial breakthrough and Josh Roseberry took an excellent catch off Simpson.

From there on wickets fell with Berkhamsted ending up on 221-7 in a hard-fought Division Five draw.
