THE Park's 3rd XI came a distant second in their drawn match at home to Cockfosters 2nds on Saturday.

The visitors smashed 269-5 in the Herts Division Five fixture, with new bowler Usman Choudhary impressing with 2-60 on his debut for Knebworth.

After having sweltered and chased leather in the field, the Park made an awful start in reply.

They then could only battle for pride, recovering to finish on 125-8, with skipper Steve Holmes top scoring with 35.

* In spite of the efforts of skipper John Inman, who scored 54 out of a total of 122, Knebworth 5ths went down by eight wickets to Waltham Cross Rosedale 3rds in Saracens Herts Division 11 on Saturday.
