Garden City Runners were celebrating after taking the team victory in the Midweek League Mob Match finale which they hosted.

Superbly organised by Peter Harvey, almost 500 runners took part in the event centred around Sir Frederic Osborn School.

And GCR will already be looking forward to next year after taking the team prize, beating all of this season’s Division One sides in the process.

The overall win came courtesy of second for the men and third for the ladies and the club added to it by winning the vets team prize as well.

The latest couch to 5k beginners course had its graduation at Panshanger Parkrun.

Charlotte Jones who has guided the graduates over the last 10 weeks, was on hand to take photos to record the sprint finishes, present medals and offer delicious home-made flapjacks.

The next course begins on September 25.
