WELWYN Garden City sprint star Jodie Williams will line-up against some of the quickest women in the world tomorrow (Saturday) in Manchester.

The teenager will take to the track for a 150m showdown with athletes including 2012 IAAF World Female Athlete of the Year Allyson Felix from America.

Felix won a trio of gold medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games in the 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m replays.

The race will take place at 1.41pm and is being shown on BBC 1.

The rarely run 150m will take place on a specially-constructed track on Manchester’s Deansgate in the city centre.

Double Olympic 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, from Jamaica, was also scheduled to race, however she’s had to pull out due to a hamstring injury suffered in the Diamond League.

The women’s 150m Great City Games record stands at 16.50secs and was set in 2011 by American Carmelita Jeter at an event in Tyneside.
