JODIE Williams finished seventh in her IAAF World Championship women’s 200m semi-final in Moscow this afternoon (Thursday).

The Welwyn Garden City 19-year-old recorded a time of 23.21secs as she missed out on a place in Friday evening’s final.

Olympic 200m champion Allyson Felix was the fastest qualifier for the final in 22.30secs, with Blessing Okagbare second quickest in 22.39secs, the pair both ran in heat two.

Williams herself had not expected to reach the final.

Prior to flying out to Russia, the teenager, who missed the London 2012 Olympic Games through injury, had said she was at the championships for the experience and that a semi-final or final place would be a great achievement.

The Herts Phoenix ace had reached the semi-finals as a fastest loser by clocking 23.00secs as she was fourth in her heat this morning.
