HATFIELD Hyde 2nds completed their third consecutive Saracens Herts League win on Saturday.

They brushed aside Old Albanian's 3rd XI by five wickets for maximum Division 11 points.

Having won the toss, Hyde skipper Eddie Mills decided to field on a damp day.

The King George V side took command from the outset as they took early wickets.

Nitan was the pick of the early bowlers, claiming two wickets before being injured in a collision with one of his own players when both went for the same catch.

Iain McCann was the most successful bowler as the St Albans team were bowled out for a modest total.

McCann snapped up 4-45 and with Ben Tobin also taking two wickets, Hyde managed to dismiss the visiting side for 152.

The Hyde reply got off to a good start with the opening pair of captain Mills and Alan Richardson in dominant mood.

Mills was the first to depart to a great catch behind the bowler for 22 and McCann fell soon after.

Ashley Arnott went quickly, as did Karim Somani.

The WGC-based side looked to repair the damaged and a partnership developed between Richardson and Tobin.

That stand was ended when Richardson was narrowly run out for 67.

Tobin then took control with an unbeaten 29 and along with Colin Luke took Hyde over the winning line by five wickets.

Hyde face St Margaretsbury's 3rd XI this Saturday away.
