HERTS' indoor bowlers beat their Hampshire counterparts in Watford by 129 shots to 88.

The visitors always bring a strong side to the county.

This encounter last Thursday was no exception but the Herts team proved to be too strong.

Hatfield bowler E Vaughan, Harpenden's D Radcliff and Riverain duo T Rolph and R Smith claimed the top rink for Herts by 24-10.

Earlier in the month the Herts indoor team emphatically dispatched the London & Southern Counties BA, also at Watford, by 201 shots to 84.

Herts were dominant on the day as they went on to win all six rinks and hardly gave their opponents a sniff.

Top rink went to the quartet of Glen Wilson, Hatfield bowler Brian Cowland, Jim Hubert and Paul Murray with a 45-9 win.
