The Herts Ad Sunday League time machine has this week stopped in the 2007-2008 season - when two sides won three trophies and one of them just missed out on four.

Queens Head Sandridge were the ones to miss out on a quadruple.

They lifted the Premier Division title, beating London Road on goal average, and they had Chris Wickens as the top scorer in the division with 40.

They got the better of the Road too in the final of the Knockout Cup when Wickens hit a hat-trick and Dave Parkinson and Sam Ledger one each in a 5-0 success.

The third trophy was the Challenge Cup, secured with two from Parkinson this time and a 2-0 win over Icarus, but it was the Herts Senior Sunday Cup that proved elusive as they slipped to defeat to St Josephs of South Oxhey.

Division Three side Nicholas Breakspear Old Boy Reserves did claim a county cup though as their three-trophy haul was led by a 2-0 victory in the Herts Sunday Junior Cup over Nirankari Sports Res.

The goals on that day came from Chris Bergin and James Juggins but it was Dillan Muthaian and Danny Fitzgerald who were on target in the final of the Herts Ad Sunday League Junior Cup when the same score was enough to beat Verulam Arms.

Like Queens Head, they lifted the Division Three title on points average with Malta finishing runners-up.

Fitzgerald (27), Bergin (24) and Juggins (17) were their leading scorers.

Beaver Travel won Division One, clinching the crown by one point from Vision in their last game. Michael Quinn was their top marksman with 28 goals.

A two point advantage over London Road Res gave Wheathampstead the Division Two title. The division's best defence helped too, only 34 conceded, although the goals of John Thompson (16) and James Lynch (15) were pretty handy too.

One point separated George Harpenden from Kings Head in Division Four. They lost just once that season and most of their goals came from Duncan O’Hare (22), James Taylor (15) and Danny Leal (14).

Oaklands were another team to make it a cup and league double.

They comfortably topped Division Five, eight points clear of London Road A, thanks to 39 goals from Oliver Franks, the top scorer in the whole league.

The cup final success was in the Junior Cup and again saw them beat London Road A. This one came 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
