Hertfordshire sprinter Jodie Williams on Sky Sports awards shortlist but missing out on team honour

Hertfordshire sprinter Jodie WIlliams narrowly missed out on being named in the Sky Sports Team of the Year for 2014 at the annual awards on Wednesday.

Williams, who runs for Herts Phoenix, was nominated alongside Bianca Williams, Ashlee Nelson & Asha Philip for their achievements in the England 4x100m relay team this year

The former Queenswood School student won gold at this summer’s European Championships in the 4x100m womens relay and also collected a bronze in the same event at Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games in August.

Individually, Williams, also won silver medals at the two events to complete a successful year.

The England womens’ rugby union team picked up the Sky Sports award.
