HATFIELD'S 2nd XI dominated their Old Finchleians counterparts with a comprehensive eight-wicket success at Ascots Lane.

The 2nd XI started their campaign under the leadership of Richard Hazeldene with some fine cricket and fully deserved their first 30 points in Saracens Herts Division Seven.

All the seam bowlers contributed with two wickets each.

Slow bowler Andy Foster, however, was the pick of the attack after taking 3-27 as the Old Boys were bowled out for 111.

Hatfield made quick work of the required runs with John McCarthy cracking 36.

Barry Phillips was unbeaten on 30 and skipper Hazeldene crashed two large sixes in his 31 not out.
