NICK Juba is to leave his role at Hatfield Swimming Club after 20 years to become the national head coach of Denmark.

It has always been his ambition to coach a national team and now he has the chance of a lifetime to do just that.

He will begin his new role in Denmark on May 6.

Juba told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “I wasn’t intending to leave Hatfield, but I’ve always had an ambition to coach a national team and this is one of the world’s top coaching jobs and I just couldn’t ignore it.

“I’m overwhelmed by the reaction I have received [since news of his departure was announced].

“I will be sad to leave.”
