HATFIELD Swimming Club Olympian Adam Brown has clocked the third fastest 100m freestyle time ever by a Brit.

The international athlete is currently studying and training in America at the Auburn University, Alabama.

Brown was in fine form at the US Grand Prix in Missouri earlier this month.

He was third in the 100m freestyle in a time of 49.45 seconds.

This was the third quickest swim ever by a British swimmer over the distance.

He was also fourth in the 50m freestyle in 22.45 secs to record the fourth fastest swim in the event ever by a Brit.

His times in the 50m, 100m freestyle and the 100m butterfly, which was 54.9 secs, were East Region and county senior long-course records.
