A SCHOOL has been welcomed into London 2012's Get Set network, in recognition of its commitment to the Olympics' education programme.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games awarded St Philip Howard School a plaque and certificate.

As part of the Get Set network, the Woods Avenue school will receive access to exclusive competitions and Games-related opportunities over the coming years.

Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps was special guest at the school to present the award on behalf of LOCOG.

He said: “Pupils should be proud of their commitment to the 2012 Games.”
