HATFIELD Bowls Club's ladies progressed to the next round of the National Top Club Cup competition after beating Datchworth on Saturday.

Hosts Hatfield finished on top in the local derby match by 79 shots to 58.

In the afternoon the club played away to Potten End in a game which featured four men's rinks and two ladies' rinks.

Hatfield again enjoyed success as they triumphed 114-108.

The top rink for the victors was that of Ken Albrecht, Maureen Metcalfe, Derek Goodman and skip Phil Havord with the score being 28-11 in their favour.

Hatfield won 127-112 at Rowley Lane on Sunday.

Their highest winning rink was that of Val Batts, Mavis Norris, Helen Winch and skip Barbara Albrecht with a 26-7 score.
