WORLD champion Lewis Hamilton will be a diamond geezer in next Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix.

Despite struggling in the championship in his McLaren Mercedes, Hamilton will almost certainly outshine his competitors in the bling stakes around Monte Carlo.

As well as having a glamorous girlfriend in Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger on his arm, the 24-year-old from Tewin will arrive at the playboy's paradise with diamonds in his race helmet.

For he will drive around the famous street circuit with a customised helmet proudly displaying the number one in diamonds courtesy of Steinmetz.

"The Steinmetz diamond number one I'll be wearing in Monte Carlo this weekend is a fantastic way to commemorate the most prestigious race on the Formula 1 calendar, and my favourite racetrack in the world," said Lewis.

Lior Levin, marketing director of Steinmetz, said: "We hope that Lewis and Heikki [Kovalainen] will outshine the diamonds in their helmets."

Hamilton's car proudly wears the number one this season in honour of the F1 racer from Herts being crowned world champion in 2008.
