LEWIS Hamilton is on course for another F1 podium finish in today's Turkish Grand Prix.

The 23-year-old McLaren maestro's bold gamble of a three-stop strategy appears to have paid off in Instanbul.

He came out ahead of reigning world champion Kimi Raikkonen following his third and final stop with 13 laps to go.

Ferrari drivers, Raikkonen and race leader Felipe Massa, have both adopted two-stop strategies.

Massa, who started from pole, is fighting to complete a hat-trick of successive victories in the Turkish GP.

But Hamilton is trying to chase Massa down as the fifth race of the series enters the closing laps and keep ahead of the other red Ferrari of Raikkonen.

Hamilton started the race from third on the grid behind Massa and McLaren team-mate Heikki Kovalainen.

He took Finn Kovalainen in the run down to the first turn and later led the race.
