LEWIS Hamilton was only fourth fastest in today's opening practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Ferrari pair Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen dominated at the Hungaroring this morning.

Brazilian Massa was fastest with a time of 1 minute 20.981 seconds, with his Finnish Ferrari colleague second quickest with a lap of 1 min 21.345 secs.

The McLaren Mercedes duo of Heikki Kovalainen and Hamilton were third and fourth best.

Finn Kovalainen, who has signed a new contract with McLaren, was fractionally quicker than Hamilton with a 1m21.410.

Hamilton, the 23-year-old Formula 1 star from Tewin, clocked 1m21.535.

The Herts motor racer is looking for his third straight F1 victory after winning the British and German GPs at Silverstone and Hockenheim respectively.

His former McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso was fifth in his Renault this morning ahead of Toyota's Timo Glock.

Then came the BMW Sauber of Robert Kubica and Renault's Nelson Piquet.

BMW driver Nick Heidfeld was ninth and Toyota's Jarno Trulli completed the top 10.
