NORTH Mymms bowlers started the season in fine style with both the men and the ladies recording victories at the expense of visitors Rosedale.

The ladies' two rink encounter was always tight, but the quartet of Diann Howell, Delsa Cooper, Pam Jones and Connie Sloan winning 16-13 saw them home to an overall victory by just a single shot.

Mymms' men won on three of their four rinks to win the match 76 shots to 64.

The top rink of Barry Paine, Alan Barth, Barry Jackson and Geoff Moorhouse returned a 26-13 winning card.

Sunday saw a repeat performance in a mixed match at home to county rivals Radlett.

Success on all four rinks contributed to a convincing overall match score of 103 shots to 63 to the Welham Green club.

Top rink was Diann Howell, Ray Jones, Barry Jackson and Jack Herbert, who came from behind to finish 15 shots to the good.
