WELSH duo Richard Evans and Richard Jones came to the rescue as Knebworth Park 5ths edged to a three-wicket triumph over Reeds 3rds.

The Saracens Herts League Division 11 game had seen Reed bowled out for 136. But Park were in dire straits before the Welsh pair came to the rescue.

In reply, the Park were on the rack before captain John Inman and Evans pushed the score to 43.

Inman was then bounced out for 23.

Rose (13) followed to the pavilion soon afterwards but not before he hit three fours.

Evans was joined by Jones for the match-winning stand.

Evans was eventually out having batted 35 overs for 41 extremely valuable runs.

Jones and Guy Johnson added the final seven runs to see them home.
