ARSENAL Ladies, Saracens Women and Mavericks Netball Club have joined forces to launch a scheme to get more girls into sport in Hatfield.
Players and coaches from the three elite teams will give girls the chance to try out new sports in a fun and active event where they can join in and learn from the professionals.
Girls Get Sporty is for girls aged 7-15 years and all levels of ability and interest are welcome to join in.
The event is organised in partnership with the three clubs, the Herts Sports Partnership and Hertfordshire Sports Village in Hatfield, the venue for the day.
Running from 11am-3pm on Saturday, August 17, girls will try all three sports (rugby, football and netball) and meet the coaches, players and even the mascots! Sarrie the Camel, Miranda the Meerkat, Gunnersaurus the Dinosaur and Stanley the Stag will battle it out to see who the winner will be of the Hertfordshire Sports Village Mascot Race 2013.
This free event promises to be an action-packed day including drills, skills and competitive fun as well as a question and answer session with the players.
The girls will receive a complimentary group photo and goody bag on the day too.
