On the track Malcolm Down finished fourth in the M50 800m race at the South of England Indoor Championships before coming fifth in the 3000m.

The trails were the destination for marathon ace Nick Genever as he took on the LDWA New Forest Challenge.

The race is navigated by map and GPS and despite problems with one checkpoint, he finished the 26-mile route in four hours 41 minutes.

Sean Bowen came second in the M50 category at the Tarpley 20 while the Hillingdon Half saw Sam Males and Katy Healy in action, with Males clocking a PB of 1:55:47.

In parkrun action there was a win for Neil Hume at Ellenbrook, where Veronica Shadbolt was the second lady, and Paul Guy took fourth at Sedgefield in County Durham.

Further afield Daniel Pudner and Steve Grout ran at Belfast Waterworks.
