Becca Hayden led the way as Garden City Runners put their endurance shoes on for the St Albans Stampede.
The 12-hour run is an ultra marathon that can be tackled either as a group or solo with the challenge to be to run as far as you can in the time limit.
And Hayden was part of a team which included GCR’s Rebecca Barden and St Albans Striders duo Fleur Harvey-Keenan and Caroline Bailes that completed an impressive 21 laps to be the fastest women’s team and the fourth fastest team of four.
Hayden herself ran a 26-minute first lap to claim the fastest female lap prize.
She said: “I had never done the St Albans Stampede before but I was so impressed. Everyone was cheering each other on no matter what team or club they were from.”
Elsewhere Richard Darley did the double.
He completed the London Spitfire 10K on Saturday in 58 minutes five seconds before running the equivalent Cosford race in 55:02 a day later.
