Home Counties Premier League Division Two (East)

Hertford 194-9 Potters Bar 195-1

IT was men against boys as Potters Bar brushed aside an outclassed Hertford side by nine wickets on Saturday.

Former Leicestershire man Nick Walker took five wickets as the in-form table-toppers held Hertford to 194-9 at The Walk on a damp day.

Sandun Dias (60) and skipper Rob Darby (53) both scored half centuries for the Balls Park side in a first innings reduced to 46 overs due to a late start because of rain and a wet pitch.

Opener Steve Gale then snacked an unbeaten century as Potters Bar coasted to 195-1 in reply in 27 overs.

Herts county batsman Gale made 113 not out for the home side to continue his fine form since joining the club from nearby Hatfield.

Sri Lankan international Lanka de Silva also completed his fifth half century of the season with an unbeaten 51 as Potters Bar increased their lead at the head of the table to an impressive 35 points.
