ZACK Neiman fired a hat-trick as Sherrardswood & Birchwood Rangers Under-14s just beat boys from professional academy team Barnet Protec 4-3.

After dominating the first 15 minutes in all parts of the park, Rangers went a goal up courtesy of Neiman.

They then conceded twice before Neiman headed an equaliser.

Rangers attacked from the off in the second half and Neiman completed his hat-trick, only for Barnet to hit back to make it 3-3.

The sides weren't level for long as just a next minute later George Herbert lobbed a ball back into the Barnet area.

The ball was parried by the goalie for captain Tom Hill to tap in the winner.

The remainder of the half was punctuated by stoppages due to injuries, but Rangers held on to win a tough match 4-3 and stay top of the Mid Herts Rural Minors League Premier Division.

It was a great performance by all the Rangers players, most notably Ben Corbett and Clayton Kentsley in midfield and Elliot Johnson up front.
