YOUNG City players completed a victory double over their Knebworth Youth opponents at the weekend.

WGC Under-9s Citizens beat Knebworth 4-1 on a cold and blustery morning.

Not to be outdone, WGC club colleagues Skys hit their rivals for six.

The Citizens produced a fine display to record a hard-fought win away at Knebworth.

They finally unlocked a resolute Knebworth defence after 10 minutes with Ellis Griffin-Ford slotting home nicely after the ball was parried by the keeper.

Knebworth pulled one back and this looked to be it for the first half until Ethan Peake cut in from the side and hit a well-taken goal into the bottom corner.

WGC continued to apply pressure and this was rewarded with a fine goal by the hard-working Matthew Hutchison.

Jake Staff wrapped up the scoring by calmly stroking the ball home after a good passing move.

A superb team effort by WGC Skys saw them run out comfortable 6-0 winners.

Regan Cordner opened the scoring with a great lob from 15 yards. An own goal then added to the scoreline.

The goal of the match was scored by Ryan Flynn. Collecting the ball in his own penalty area, he went on a mazy run and lashed the ball home from the edge of the box.

Finely crafted goals in the second half by Harry Claridge, Josh Ward and Callum Slattery completed the scoring.
