WITH their league season over several weeks ago, Sherrardswood Yellows Under-10s beat East Herts 3-2 in a friendly on Saturday.

Playing over three 20 minute periods, the first third was an even contest with much of the ball in midfield and keeper Harry Rember rarely called into action.

Changes were made for the second period and Yellows gained the upper hand.

Luke Foster and Reggie Ross were dominant in the air.

After Charlie Hayne went close, Ross drove in a near post free-kick that Foster slid in to score from close range.

The lead was doubled two minutes later when Glenn Gleeson shot home following a great through ball by Regan Still.

Yellows went close twice more through good efforts from Still and Hayne.

The final period saw several positional changes which made for a more even contest again.

Ryan Sullivan was quick off his line to thwart an East Herts break before Yellows made it 3-0 as Gleeson headed home unmarked from a Ross corner.

East Herts quickly reduced the arrears with a great solo run and finish.

They then grabbed a late second with the last kick of the match.
