HONOURS were even when Panshanger Yellows Under-9s faced Wheathampstead Wanderers at the weekend.

The match between the fourth and third-placed teams of the Mid Herts Rural Minors League Under-9 Yellow Division finished 2-2.

Despite taking an early lead following a well-worked break down the left, Wheathampstead failed to break Panshanger's spirit.

Charlie Sherwood and Eddy Webb were the Welwyn side's scorers, with Nicholas Rosser giving another mature defensive performance with several timely tackles.

Keeper Harry Hall dealt comfortably with Wheathampstead's dangerous inswinging corners and captain Daniel Bishop provided excellent defensive cover in the second half.
