CITIZENS boss Del Deanus is hoping whatever side he puts out against Tring Athletic on Saturday can secure three points.

Following the 1-1 draw with St Margaretsbury on Tuesday night, the former Leyton Town number one has challenged his side to convert possession into goals.

He said: "As long as we get a reasonable side out there on Saturday, I am confident we can get the victory.

"When you haven't played for a while (the Citizens' Christmas fixtures were massively disrupted) it's difficult to keep the fitness levels up.

"A lot of players are carrying knocks and niggles, and there are some stiff legs out there at the moment, so I'm not 100-per-cent what side we'll be able to put out."

Mark Blackburne came off during Tuesday's 1-1 draw with the Bury feeling the effects of two games in four days but will be hoping to feature on Saturday.

Richard Morton is stepping up his training and is again due to get a place on the bench.

Tring are six points ahead of City in the Premier Division of the South Midlands League with 30 points from 22 games played.

And Athletic will be full of confidence coming to Herns Lane having defeated Biggleswade United 5-1 in their Premier Division fixture last Saturday.
