WGC picked up a hard-earned three points last night (Tuesday) after a 1-0 home victory against Biggleswade United.

In an end-to-end game, United will perhaps feel they deserved to take at least a point from the South Midlands League Premier Division fixture.

The only goal of the game came from Citizens leading scorer Stuart Blackburne on 28 minutes.

A defence-splitting pass from Paul Marks found Blackburne, and he raced clear of the visiting defence, took the ball wide, and slotted home from a tight angle.

Biggleswade had lots of possession for the remainder of the tie, but couldn't find a way past City custodian Rob Blackburne.

Next up for Del Deanus' troops is a trip to the Carlsberg Stadium to take on Biggleswade Town on Saturday.
