WELWYN Rangers defeated a brave White Horse outfit 3-0 on a bitterly cold Sunday morning.

Fielding only 10 men, Horse put on a stubborn display in the WHSFL Division One match.

The blustery wind made things difficult for both sides, but Rangers soon went ahead.

Dan Tassell's cross was headed out to Matt Wheeler, who controlled the ball and then let fly from 25 yards out.

His thunderbolt screamed into the top corner to give Rangers a 1-0 lead.

The second half became scrappy and Mark Ashby in the Rangers goal produced a brilliant fingertip save to deny the White Horse.

Ricky Martin's long throw came off a Horse defender and Sam Matshogoto bundled the ball home.

Rangers went 3-0 up when man-of-the-match Tassell sent Matshogoto clear.

His cross was crashed home by Greg Skelton for a debut goal to seal the win against a spirited and resolute White Horse outfit.
