WGC’s U25s bounced back in style after defeat at Oxhey Jets the previous Saturday, with an emphatic 3-0 win over Hoddesdon in a midweek SSML U25 Development Division fixture at Herns Lane.

The Citizens fielding a strong-looking line-up featuring three new faces.

Ex-Arlesey full-back Anthony Araba went into the back four, while midfielder Tatenda Makoni, who has experience with Ryman Premier Dulwich Hamlet, and Lewis Croucher, signed from Stotfold, were part of a strong midfield.

Craig Arnott produced a peach of a pass that put Croucher through for the opener.

A minute later, WGC doubled their lead as Arnott again split the visitors’ back-line with a straight ball into the path of Yasir Rashid, who finished well.

Nathan Isherwood wrapped up the win with the third eight minutes from time from another Arnott assist.
