Stevenage FC have confirmed first team squad and U18 players will be in their side to face Welwyn Garden City in the Herts Senior Cup tonight (Wednesday) and that manager Teddy Sheringham will not play.

The club revealed yesterday (Tuesday) that ex-England and Manchester United star Sheringham, who is 49, and his assistant Kevin Watson, 41, had signed on as players this week ahead of the match in case they were required to feature due to injuries in the squad and an FA Youth Cup match on Monday night.

However, it looks like the club now have enough fit and available players to make up the numbers required for the match at Herns Lane and the former Spurs duo’s inclusion is unnecessary.

The match kicks-off at 7.45pm with entrance £6 for adults and £3 for concessions.
