This weekend’s home game for Welwyn Garden City against Hoddesdon Town will go ahead, after lengthy negotiation, outside of Welwyn Hatfield.

The clash will be staged at Ryman League Ware FC’s Wodson Park ground, where Hoddesdon have been playing a series of early season fixtures, but it will be the Citizens’ home game.

With building work at City’s Herns Lane over-running, WGC had originally arranged for the fixture to be played at London Lions FC’s Rowley Lane home, Arkley, but a change of fixture for the Lions over the Bank Holiday weekend meant that arrangement had to be cancelled.

Kick-off at Ware will be the usual 3pm and WGC FC hope as many of their supporters who can make the short trip do so to support Adam Fisher’s side.

The Citizens hope to be back home at Herns Lane the following weekend, Saturday, September 10, for the visit of Edgware Town in the league.
