Welwyn Garden City have won the SSML Division One title after wrapping up the crown by beating Chesham United Reserves 5-0 at Herns Lane.

The victory, a 29th of the league campaign, was sealed this afternoon (Saturday) with a four goal haul from Jason Caswell and another from Joel Norris to spark celebrations in the sunshine.

City have two league games still to play; at home to Edgware Town on Saturday, April 25 and away to Bush Hill Rangers on Thursday, April 30.

Manager Adam Fisher has guided his hometown side back to the SSML Premier Division which they were relegated from at the end of the 2009/10 term.

Last season was Fisher’s first in charge of WGC and an impressive year saw them finish fourth in the table.

He and his players will now be promoted as champions with the chance of completing the double as they play Crawley Green in the SSML Division One Cup final on Tuesday, April 28.
