It took just 90 seconds to open their account, Emmanuel Banahene getting on the end of a through ball for their historic first goal.

His power and pace caused problems for the Lemsford defence throughout and got him a second and when strike partner Manny Chitongo was brought down in the box, he completed a first-half hat-trick.

Lemsford did have chances but captain Joe Francis was a dominant force at the back keeping them out and what did slip through found keeper Jack Hedges in equally fine form.

Banahene bagged a fourth and the scoring was rounded off for Welham with a brace from Dan Sitton.

Lemsford kept battling and they managed two consolation goals but it was always Welham’s day.

Their next game is on Thursday at Birchwood Leisure Centre with a 7.30pm kick-off.
