Harry Toffolo played 90 minutes as England U20s missed out on lifting the Mercedes-Benz Elite Cup in Heidenheim, Germany.

Coming off the back of two victories against The Netherlands and Turkey, the Three Lions required a win in their final game, against the hosts, for a tournament clean sweep.

Maximilian Dittgen’s 48th-minute winner ended that aspiration though and it was Germany who took the trophy with a 1-0 win.

Despite the disapointment of not winning the competition, the Watton-on-Stone defender played the full 90 minutes of the 3-1 win over the Dutch. He also made a second-half substitute appearance in the 1-0 triumph against Turkey.

Speaking on Twitter following the tournament, Toffolo said: “Great time away with the England U20s. 2 wins against Turkey and Holland. Gutted to get beat by Germany in the last game! Been a good trip.”

Toffolo is yet to make an appearance for Norwich City, currently 13th in the Premier League.
