In the Ultimate Football WGC Monday night league, The Easter Cup saw Sons of Pitches maintain their 100 per cent winning record with a 5-2 victory over My Dixie.

In group B, Hedgehog FC lost 6-1 to Free Agents, for whom Aaron Baker scored a hat-trick.

Dalton Fenton also hit a treble as Blackpool won 4-3 over Rag Rovers in their tie.

Ivory Toast, who were searching for their first win in the Easter Cup group stage, took inspiration from possibly the goal of the cup so far scored by their captain Ben Smith.

The solo effort which started in Toast’s half of the field continued at pace with exquisite skills to weave the ball around the Old Guard defence.

Taylor Evanson equalised for Guard just before half-time and set-up an intense second half.

With both teams intent on winning there were several fast paced counter-attacking moves on display. Charlie Lloyd converted a penalty and then scored his second to seal the win for Neil Doctor’s side.

The Easter Cup continues next week.
