The Ultimate Football Welwyn Garden City Monday night 6 a-side league is now into its autumn season.
In the Premiership, Dale Stewart’s Litty Commity’s good run of form continued, as they dispatched SD & Carlton Cole with a clinical 3-0 win.
For Litty, Daryl Hall was particularly impressive, scoring one goal and controlling the game on the night.
The win puts Litty into second position in the league.
Equally impressive were Martin Clark’s Volvo Selekt who registered their first win of the season against Chris Houghton’s Flumpy FC.
Jack Offredi was the star man for Volvo with a brace of goals after Houghton had put Flumpy in front.
Volvo will hope this 2-1 win is the kick-start their season needed.
In the Championship, The Rock maintained their strong position at the top of the league with a 5-1 thrashing of Harry Hall’s Stevie Wonder side.
Luke Jones led the way with a man of the match performance and one goal. The Rock’s other scorers included the in-form Kuba Hliwa, Billy Zed, Jack Hurd, Dan Harper and captain Adam Wright.
Hedgehog, however, maintained pressure on The Rock with a hard-fought victory over a spirited Neverbee Athletic.
It was goalless at half-time thanks to an outstanding goalkeeping performance by Neverbee’s Steve Moss but in the second half the deadly duo of Jordan Borrie and James Ferguson broke the deadlock and took the points for their team with a 2-0 win.
Borrie now has 11 goals in 7 games and tops the golden boot standings.
Flights FC came up against Got No Fans in a hotly-contested encounter.
Kuba Hliwa and Jack Gilbert put Flights two up and seemingly in cruise control only for Got No Fans to equalise after Sam Cooper’s impressive effort in the second half.
However, Flights had something left in the tank late on and Curtin Whitelegg stole the points in a great game that ended 3-2.
Real Sons came up against FC Rangers Old Boys in what was another memorable game.
In no time at all Real were 3-0 ahead thanks to a brace from Tom Paige and an effort from captain Ethan Cooper.
However, Mark Rogers of Old Boys had other ideas and hit a great hat-trick in a memorable comeback which saw the OBs win 4-3.
In another amazing comeback The Mavericks looked like they would register their first victory after they went three goals up against Sondico United, Mavericks’ captain Connor Gladwin scoring twice, and David Kelly with the third.
But in the second half Antonio Costa’s Sondico were a different team.
Archie Hern registered a hat-trick and Joe Barnsdale scored a brace in an amazing 5 – 3 victory for Sondico.
