TITLE-CHASING Hatfield Town cut the gap on Premier leaders Metropolitan Police Bushey to just four points on Wednesday night after recording their fourth straight league win.
Trevor Lloyd and Andy Prutton's in-form side brushed aside Wormley Rovers 4-1 at Harpenden Town's ground.
Striker Daniel Staples scored twice for the home side with Lewis Field and Trevor Golder also getting on the scoresheet.
The Wednesday night victory was Town's fourth this month and Hatfield haven't been beaten in the league since October 13, when they lost 4-1 at Buntingford Town.
Since then, Hatfield have banked an incredible 34 points out of a possible 36, with 11 wins and a draw from their last dozen matches.
The only slight blemish on that record over the past four months is a 2-2 draw with title contenders Met Police at the end of January.
However, Hatfield's 12-match unbeaten run has lifted them to within four points of the league leaders and they still have a game in hand over their only rivals for the championship.
Hatfield and Met Police also have to play each other again at Herns Lane in what could prove to be a title decider.
Town are away to London Lions this Saturday and then face Bovingdon twice in successive weeks, first in the league and then the semi-final of the Aubrey Cup.
