The Furzefield Centre in Potters Bar hosted the latest installment of the Soccer Showcase Centre football trials last Friday.

Under the guidance of head coach and former Tottenham Hotspur youth player Ollie Morah, 30 children aged 9-13 were put through their paces to show off their skills.

Morah, who has links with Premier League teams Tottenham Hotspur, Hull City and Crystal Palace among others, was delighted with how the day went.

“We had good numbers on Friday and the standard was good too, I think it will continue to get better the more people get to know about it.”

At just £15 per session, morning or afternoon, Soccer Showcase Centre is hoping to grow in the local community.

“One of the boys said it’s the first time he has been able to come on something like this, as he couldn’t afford other programmes,” added Morah.

“We aim to give an opportunity to those who perhaps haven’t had the chance before.”

The next step for Morah is to decide who of the group is capable of a trial with a football league club.
