Hatfield Town U13s have secured the Mid Herts Rural Minors Division Six title with a game to play following a convincing 5-0 win at home over Hertford Heath.

In their first season under the leadership of new manager Elis Woodford, Hatfield were crowned champions after an impressive eight-game unbeaten streak.

Town have lost just two games all season on their way to top honours.

It is a far cry from before the season started, when it was touch and go whether the team would have enough players to actually start the campaign.

However, under the management of Elis, and with Claire Zwager assisting behind the scenes, the players have excelled beyond all expectations.

There could also be a double on the horizon as this coming weekend Hatfield face Paringdon Youth at home in the Divisional Cup semi-final.
