New joint managers Scott Cousins and Lee O’Leary have made their first foray into the transfer market as they look to strengthen the squad at Potters Bar Town.
The pair took over from the Chesham United-bound James Duncan and inherited a threadbare squad after a number of the Scholars’ promotion-winning squad followed their old boss to The Meadow.
But they have moved quickly to inject the side with plenty of experience and quality.
Two are permanent signings.
Lewis Hobbs, who joins from Hendon, is a highly-regarded defender who counts Barnet and Royston Town among his former clubs while Stefan Powell arrives from Beaconsfield Town after spells at Arlesey Town and Hitchin Town among others.
Mahrez Bettache comes in on loan from National League Braintree Town. The 24-year-old is an attacking midfielder who came through the youth ranks at Fulham.
Speaking on the club’s website the management duo thanked Adam Waller for his help in getting the signatures across the line.
