TEENAGE Potters Bar footballer Tegana James is back in training less than three months after a horrific injury left him fighting for his life.

In December the striker, who is on loan from St Albans City, was knocked unconscious and his heart stopped three times after a collision with an opponent.

The 19-year-old, who attends the Oaklands College Academy, had to be resuscitated by club staff on the pitch before paramedics arrived at Parkfield.

Tegana, a former Stanborough School pupil, was playing for the Scholars against Uxbridge in the Middlesex Senior Cup tie at the time.

After two and half months of rehabilitation Tegana has returned to training with the Ryman League Division One North club.

Town manager Steve Browne said: "I'm pleased to have him back training with us.

"We'll get him involved and he'll be on the bench on Saturday, so we'll see how it goes.

"He's a good lad. I was a bit sceptical in having him back so quickly but he has had the all-clear.
