ST Johns Youth Blues are in the semi-finals of the Under-14 County Cup after defeating Broxbourne Borough 6-2.

Broxbourne took the lead midway through the first half with a header from a corner in the quarter-final encounter.

St Johns fought back well to equalise with a Ben Agyekum drive after he held off some determined Broxbourne challenges.

Broxbourne took the lead again at the beginning of the second half to test the Hatfield side's resilience.

They responded with tenacious Mikie Truman scoring a superb hat-trick, the pick being a half-volley.

Broxbourne appeared to lose heart, enabling St Johns to tighten their grip on the game.

A further two goals for Ben Agyekum completed his treble, making the score 6-2 to St Johns.

They put in a fine team display to reach the cup's last four.
