SSML Division One midweek round-up: Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City remain unbeaten

Derby rivals Hatfield Town and Welwyn Garden City continued their unbeaten starts to the SSML Division One with victories in their midweek clashes.

First up were table toppers Hatfield on Tuesday night.

The Blueboys won their 10th game from 11 matches by seeing off Langford 3-2.

Hatfield led 3-0 at half-time with Steven Harper, Vincent James and Ben Alexander netting.

After the break Angus Stewart and John Vooght pulled two back for Langford, but Hatfield held on for all three points.

Wednesday night saw WGC maintain their 100 percent winning start after an eighth league victory from eight games.

City took an early lead over hosts Crawley Green through a Sean Brettell free-kick only for Aaron Wilson to equalise soon after.

The second half saw Adam Fisher’s men step up a gear and three goals in 11 minutes from Joel Norris, Craig Arnott and Jason Caswell secured a 4-1 triumph.

WGC are fifth in the table, seven points from top side Hatfield with three games in hand.

On Saturday Hatfield are away to Southall, WGC head to Buckingham Athletic while Codicote host Langford.
