Applecroft took the honours at the 15-team U11 district primary schools football competition hosted by Monk’s Walk School last week.

In a repeat of last year’s final, Applecroft squared off against Panshanger.

An early Panshanger goal looked After a nervy affair that ended level at 1-1, penalties

Monk’s Walk school. 3 group winners and the best runner up qualified from 3 very close pools of 5 schools that saw oaklands, pans hanger, apple croft and green lanes into the semi finals. After some great matches apple croft and pans hanger squared off in the final for the second year running and after pans hanger scored early an own goal in the last minute saw the final go to penalties. Nerves were jangling as the shoutout went to sudden death with applecroft finally winning a very exciting event. Oaklands took 3rd place after beating green lanes and thanks goes to the Monk’s Walk and Stanborough sports leaders for running the event.
