Potters Bar Town fell to a second Southern League defeat in three games this season with a 3-0 loss at unbeaten Beaconsfield SYCOB on Saturday.

Having secured a 2-1 away win at Ware in their previous game, the Scholars were hoping to add more points to their tally from the Buckinghamshire trip to face The Rams.

The opening period provided little for the 70-strong crowd to shout about as the game was largely a midfield battle at that stage.

That was to change though in the 35th minute as ths hosts’ Tristan Campbell and Lee Togwell combined to set-up their former AFC Bournemouth forward Charlie Losasso who shot past Bar keeper Mike Underwood to open the scoring.

The hosts held onto the 1-0 lead at the break.

The second half saw Beaconsfield start brightly and double their advantage.

That man Losasso was again the scorer.

This time he showed his expertise from set-pieces as he curled a fine free-kick past Underwood.

Beaconsfield had further chances to finish off Bar, they saw a Guri Demuria header come back off the crossbar before Underwood saved well from Rob Gerrard.

The points were finally secured on 87 minutes as captain Togwell fired home.

Potters Bar are due to face Royston Town in the league at home tonight (Tuesday).

The Scholars then travel to Godalming Town on Saturday.
