SCHOLARS skipper George Sifonios has called for his team-mates to continue to "grind out" victories to keep them out of the Ryman League Division One North relegation zone.

The industrious midfielder played his part in a 3-2 away win for Bar at Witham Town on Saturday.

Sifonios said: "When you are at the bottom you have to grind out results like that and we have to keep doing it week in and week out.

"It doesn't matter how we win at the end of the day as long as we get three points on the board."

A sensational first 45 minutes saw the visitors storm into a 3-0 lead, but two second-half goals for the hosts made for a nerve-jangling final few minutes.

He added: "The first half performance was outstanding and we scored three good goals.

"The second half was a bit disappointing. We sat back too deep and let them come at us."

Potters Bar face Northwood at Parkfield tonight (Tuesday).
